Successful Crowdfunding Campaigns

Successful Crowdfunding Campaigns

In the past, a successful campaign was depending on proximity by having a large amount of people physically at one place to support one campaign. The advent of the Internet has changed this approach and has made it easier to have virtual crowds from all over the world to support a campaign. Those crowds get together through one shared interest and shared passion. The interest is usually an idea, project, or business that need supporters who are interested to bring this project, idea, or business to life and help out in growing it.

However, having the Internet to ease the way getting people together is not the only and enough tactic for effective and successful crowdfunding campaign. To have a project set up for success, it needs to be supported by people who are really interested in it. The project should hit the right audience and contributors and make them share the project to reach the maximum number of viewers and supporters; and that needs hard work and mistake-free campaign.

When starting the campaign using the Internet that apparently means getting people into one website that should provide adequate details about the project, its goals, how it can benefit people, and why people should support it. The project owner should put so much sufficient work on the web page, because this is the way to attract people and gather a crowd.

There is so many creative work around, but they unfortunately fail just because they are not spread and commercialized the right way to build a community that is able to fund the work; it is basically about giving people a reason to help the project. Delivering a creative idea and convince people to support it is the hardest step when starting a campaign. Listed below are some of the great idea project owners need to follow in order to build up a successful campaign virtually and gather the community needed to fund their projects.

1. Having a pitch video that is promotional for your project. Make it eye-catching video that talks about your personal story and a summary about your project; that makes people feel your story and relate it to the project. Make it a nice and short video, and add graphics to it to attract people. Do not let people reach the point of being bored while watching the video, because this video is your starting point to get people more interested in your whole project.

2. Funding a project is not like winning a lottery; it does not happen with no effort. You have to put the work in to make your campaign relevant for your community. Send emails to family and friends asking them to make contribution and let them know more about your campaign. Keep your contributors engaged by posting updates every once in a while; even updates about your daily life will be good to keep contributors posted and make them feel comfortable that the people behind the project are close despite of the distance. Moreover, ask for feedback from your contributors, so you make them feel how important they are and how much value they add to the campaign.

3. Offering reasonable perks for the campaign to motivate people to contribute. You can freely decide what perks you want to provide your contributors with, but make sure that you choose the right ones for the right pledges so they work out well. Simple example, you can give a big thank you only for a contributor who pledges $500, or a t-shirt for a $100 pledge. Moreover, since you are the one who decides the amount of money to pledge, try not to jump all the way from small amount to big amounts. You will always have contributors in the middle who want to pledge not small but not high amounts of money. Keep in mind, that choosing the perks and the amounts should be based on the type of your target audience.

4. Last but not least, you need a team to work together on making your campaign successful. The team can help promote your campaign and share it with other to rapidly build up the community you need to support your project.
